In terms of hardware, the Ryzen 4000-powered VivoBook comes in two variants. The first SKU sports a 6-core Ryzen 5 4500U mobile CPU, with a maximum clock of 3.8GHz and a base of 2.4GHz. Further, it comes with a single 8GB DDR4 RAM module and 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD storage. For connectivity, the notebook also comes with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

There’s also the battery inside the VivoBook S14; it’s a 50Whr 3-cell Li-Ion battery, which is actually slightly larger than most batteries being used in currently existing notebooks. ASUS promises that the battery – combined with the new Ryzen 4000 series CPU – gives the new VivoBook up to 11 hours of continuous use. While the machine’s quick-charging feature will restore up to 60% battery for just 49 minutes of charging.

The second variant basically sports a more powerful Ryzen 7 4700U. Beyond that though, every other component inside the VivoBook S14 remains the same. That includes the notebook’s 14-inch IPS Full HD display. For ports, the VivoBook S14 features an HDMI 1.4 port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen1 port, and a microSD card reader. Like all thin and light laptops, the VivoBook S14 is lightweight, weighing in at only 1.4kg.

The ASUS VivoBook S14 is already available at all official ASUS stores and authorised resellers. Price-wise, the laptop starts from RM2899 for the model with the Ryzen 5 4500U. For an additional RM300, you can get the model with the Ryzen 7 4700U. Do note, however, that the Ryzen 7 4700U variant only comes in one colour, Indie Black. Whereas the former comes in three colour variants: Gaia Green, Indie Black, and Dreamy White.
