Goeff Keighley tweeted a reminder that Gamescom is happening this coming Thursday. But as part of the tweet, there’s an additional line that references the player character of the series. Then there’s the accompanying media showing the word “rebooting” with the fleur-de-lis symbol that the game makes use of.
We are “Bossing” it with our announcements this year 👀 https://t.co/osudHTCxj1 See you live, Wednesday at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 7 pm BST / 8 pm CEST at https://t.co/FjoDbKD0sN pic.twitter.com/6zE974HW0Q — Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) August 20, 2021 The word reboot is thrown around quite a lot in the video games space recently. But the word itself just means bringing a series back to relevance, broadly speaking. In other words, it’s still up in the air as to if a new entry is coming to the series, or a remaster or remake of the older games is on its way. Considering the way the plot of Saints Row IV basically threw itself out the window, the latter is probably more likely. That being said, we’ll only know for sure what the series’ developer Volition has in plan for the reboot when the official announcement comes along. (Source: Geoff Keighley / Twitter)
