WABetaInfo reports that the messaging app has a new beta version submitted to the Google Play Beta Program. The new version number is 2.19.80, and in it, two key new features are being highlighted – Forwarding Info and Frequently Forwarded.
Forwarding Info (shown above) essentially shows you the number of times a message has been forwarded. The idea might be simple but not the execution since users have to open up Message Info in order to see it. Not only that, Forward Info is only available to messages you send. This means that you’ll have to forward the message first before you can tell the number of times it’s already been forwarded.
As for the Frequently Forwarded feature (shown above), it changes the label on a “Forwarded” message to “Frequently forwarded” once it has been forwarded five times or more. You won’t be able to tell the exact number though, but the label itself should be able to tell you that it’s an overshared message that requires more verification before you forward it further yourself. There’s no indication yet as to when version 2.19.80 of WhatsApp will go live, or if these features will indeed be included in said version once it’s available. (Source: WABetaInfo)
